Washington, February 18 (AFP) – Russia has expelled Richard Gorman, the no. 2 official in the US diplomatic mission to Russia, the US State Department confirmed On February 17.According to reports, the US State Department spokesman confirmed that Russia expelled Gorman “for no reason” and that the US considers this an escalation step and is considering countermeasures.”More than ever, we need to have diplomatic personnel on the ground to facilitate exchanges between our governments,” he said.Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said gorman was ordered to leave the country in response to the “unreasonable” expulsion of a Russian minister counsellor in the US.
